Julie Morley writes: "First of all, I want to begin this article with the most enthusiastic expression of joy and completeness, as well as some intense emphasis on the emotional exhaustion, this beautifully constructed game bestowed upon me. I thought the foundation that is my worldly understanding was solid. But when Transistor entered my life, oh boy, it was shaken."

Real writes: "In so many words, if you like RPGs, you need to buy this game. If you like action-RPGs, you need to buy this game. If you like indie titles, you need to buy this game. If you like esoteric, artistic, bite-sized chunks of gameplay, you need to buy this game."

NGB Wrote: "Transistor is a worthy follow up to one of the most revered indie games of the last generation. Supergiant have taken a formula that works really well and applied a truly gorgeous art direction to it, with an incredibly deep combat system to boot. Its a game that is well worth your time, and with the big AAA game drought heading our way over summer, its a perfect title to sink your teeth into for a few hours and just let it wash over you"

"Transistor; the latest game from independent studio SuperGiant Games, has been a long time in the making. Off the back of their incredibly successful Xbox 360 hit Bastion, Transistor has been in development since July 2011 and after initially giving us a tease back in March 2013, the project was finally revealed to be coming to PC and PS4 in 2014 more specifically May 20th. Featuring many elements that made Bastion so wildly acclaimed, does this venture from fantasy to sci-fi work much as it did before? Read on to find out."

GR: After arriving in San Francisco to show off their new game, Orcs Must Die! Unchained, the development team from Robot Entertainment discovered that the computers that were supposed to be waiting for them had been accidentally replaced by a crate of generalissimo uniforms for Wargaming.net booth babes. Eventually, they were able to get their supplier on the horn and eight of the ten computers they needed arrived, so Robot Entertainment CEO Patrick Hudson made a call to a friend at Supergiant Games, who decided on-the-spot to loan them three of their development computerswith the source code for Transistor sitting on themto run the demo off of. This kind of trust and companionship amongst indie developers warms the cockles of my heart and loosens my wallet. It was also loosened by free-to-play Orcs Must Die! Unchained being a helluva lot of fun to play.

GOS: "Transistor is a very enjoyable gaming experience and a great addition to any gamers indie game collection. It combines a fun combat system with a moody soundtrack all set in a city full of imaginative character designs and set pieces. The artwork is amazing and Reds adventure through the streets of Cloudbank is actually a quite clever one. Did my experience with Transistor make me want to be inside of a intelligent sword?
No, but it definitely warranted another playthrough."

From the review - With Transistor, Supergiant Games created a beautiful, unique and enjoyable world. Unfortunately, the game is so focused that you're not offered the opportunity to really explore or experience this world.
