News: Apple launches cheaper 8GB iPhone 5c

Added: 18.03.2014 7:48 | 14 views | 0 comments

£40 cheaper than the 16GB model.

Buying directly from Apple off-contract the iPhone 5c 8GB costs £429. The 16GB is priced £469 and the 32GB £549.

While by no means cheap, the new lower price point does indicate that Apple may be struggling to compete with much cheaper and feature-rich Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, LG G2 and Sony Xperia Z1.

It's not known how many 5c units Apple has sold since it launched on September 20, 2013.

Is 336MB and doesn't appear to change much.

The update is 336MB and has one patch note: "Operation quality during use of some PlayStation 4 software has been improved."

It's likely that the update tweaks things behind the scenes and you won't notice any difference in your day-to-day use of the console.

News: Battlefield 4 Dragon's Teeth one-handed shield dropped due to 360/PS3 memory constraints

Added: 18.03.2014 6:14 | 1 views | 0 comments

Animations pushed memory requirements over allocation.

The shield was supposed to offer players protection while firing a handgun, but the required animations supposedly took last-gen consoles past their allocation, forcing DICE to drop the idea across all platforms.

"We didn't have enough memory," senior animator Ryan Duffin said during a GDC talk (reported by Polygon). "It added about a megabyte, but a megabyte on a 2006 console is a lot, so it didn't work out."

In the end it was replaced by a two-handed shield, restricting players to melee combat with an attack range of "about one metre".

"There was a lot of...

Feature: MGS5: Ground Zeroes Guide - How to speed run it in under 12 minutes

Added: 18.03.2014 4:28 | 4 views | 0 comments

We’ve managed to complete Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes in under 12 minutes without a single kill or being spotted. Follow our walkthrough to learn how you can do the same.

General Tips Skip all the cutscenes. Any time spent watching cut-scenes counts towards your overall time for completing the mission. Try and skip these as soon as possible, but be careful of entering the pause menu. It’s also best to minimise the amount of times you incur Reflex Mode. Reflex Mode is when guards notice you, and the game enters slow-mo to give you a brief window to neutralise them before they can raise the alarm. Although this is a good chance to maintain your 'zero alert' playthrough, it wastes valuable seconds off the clock and can be the difference between an A and S...

Review: Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes (PS4)

Added: 18.03.2014 4:18 | 4 views | 0 comments

A wonderful introduction to Metal Gear Solid 5.

Set in a Guantanamo-style US black site (where, we presume, Uncle Sam tickles people until it gets the info it needs) the open play area lends itself well to demoing the key new mechanics of the game: Far Cry 3-style binocular-based enemy tagging being the most obvious change. The setting also lends itself well to repeated playthroughs. Comparisons to MGS2's Tanker section are unfounded: that was essentially linear, whereas here you have the freedom to approach your goal - rescue two POWs- in a number of ways.

In essence, it feels like a mission from an old Hitman game....
