Speaking to Edge in an interview to be published in the latest issue of the magazine, Nintendo producer Yoshiaki Koizumi said of the game's platform: "That's still a secret."
He added: "I can tell you, though, that we've already started approaching our next challenge."
Regarding game development, Koizumi said: "There's still a lot more room for discovery and invention, and we'll continue to propose new and exciting game mechanics going into the future," and that should the new Mario game be for Wii U the team "might need to make even more use of the GamePad".
DLC plans revealed as Season Pass details leak out.
Listed by US retailer GameStop, the $20 Season Pass will allegedly allow players to "stay connected to the world of Watch Dogs" and "get access to a unique Single Player Campaign featuring a new playable character plus more missions, weapons, and exclusive content for $19.99".
The listing states that the Season Pass offers a 30 per cent saving over buying the content separately.
Ubisoft has yet to announce details of Watch Dogs' DLC or confirm a Season Pass. However, it sounds as if it could be similar to previous add-on content released for Assassin's Creed, which saw...
Eight-player lobbies and spectating also included.
In addition to the new playable character Fulgore (only available if you've paid for the game), the update also introduces an arcade mode and a lobbies system for up to eight players with spectator functionality.
Fulgore is the last of the planned Season 1 character set.
Future development of the game is now in the hands of Iron Galaxy Studios, after Double Helix Games was acquired by Amazon back in February.
UK release date confirmed as Alternative Software signs up to distribute.
The UK launch follows its debut in Australia last week.
Developed by Big Ant Studios, Don Bradman Cricket 14 claims to be "the best and most fun Cricket game ever to grace a console", featuring an extensive career mode, dynamic weather and a complete player physics system.
A PC release is expected to follow in the coming months, with a next-gen version possibly following in the future.
Sony says it has been working with Iron Galaxy Studios, Gearbox Software and 2K to "make sure that we can bring the best experience to PlayStation Vita".
Gio Corsi, director of Third Party Productions at SCEA also had a few things to say about the handheld port.
"We've been working hard to jam pack the endless looting and mayhem of Borderlands 2 into the palm of your hands, and we're committed to porting over the heart and soul of the console original without compromising the gameplay you know and love. Soon, Vita owners can chase down Handsome Jack on the go,...
However, the ad appears to have leaked out prematurely, with the link leading to an unlisted page. Could an official announcement be due today?

A host of classic characters from previous Smash Bros. titles were also confirmed as making a return with new powers and abilities:

Marvel Entertainment has teased a second instalment in the Disney Infinity franchise - and dropped a big hint that the Avengers could be set to feature.
The trailer, titled "Get Ready To Assemble", features a range of Disney Infinity characters chasing Captain America's shield before cutting to the game's logo. The words '2.0 Edition' then fade into the top right corner.
Disney has yet to announce a follow up to last year's game, but told VideoGamer.com previously that it had plans to annualise the series.
'We're not going to stop you from progressing' if you don't spend money, promises creative director, 'but it'll take more time'.
The system appears to be similar to the monetisation model found in many free-to-play games, with players able to earn in-game credits by completing missions and challenges, or short-cutting the process by purchasing currency with real cash.
"We can confirm that performance parts can be unlocked through progression as well as microtransactions," a Ubisoft representative told VideoGamer.com. "All content can be unlocked through progression, but for busy gamers who want to save some time, they will have the opportunity to buy some items in-game."
PC version to remain on par with next-gen versions.
The PC version won't differ too much from the console versions, either, he says, adding that Ivory Tower is "really trying to get parity across all versions, so it's something that’s important to us not to branch out and not do individual things for individual platforms."
One feature exclusive to the PS4 version, however, will be the use of the DualShock 4's trackpad.
"Reflections is doing the PS4 version and they're doing an incredible job on it," Gerighty continued. "We'll be using the trackpad to manipulate the map and stuff like that, so they’ve really pushed...
Is Ubisoft sabotaging The Crew with its monetisation model?
To try and explain The Crew as a concept succinctly is nearly impossible. Pitched as a racer-MMO-RPG, it is a constantly connected open world where players level up in order to unlock new cars and better parts in order to take on tougher challenges. By completing races players earn cash and XP; attaining a bronze, silver or gold medal in the event will also unlock a bronze, silver or gold car part to purchase later on.
The variety of environment offered by The Crew is something unseen in previous racers. The inclusion of the whole of the United States (albeit condensed) means...
"It's not good news, I'm afraid," creative director admits.
"I think it's going to kick you out of the race," Gerighty said, discussing what happens when the player's connection drops. "It's one of those things that the game needs to work with an internet connection so I think you're going to lose the race you're in."
Asked to clarify where the player would be sent should they lose their connection, Gerighty replied: "Probably [the] title screen."
"It's not the most elegant of solutions," he continued. "It's not good news, I'm afraid, but it's just part and parcel of... You know, you're doing an instance on World of Warcraft,...
Ubisoft targeting 'back to school' release for online racer.
The date was hinted at in a Q&A document provided to VideoGamer.com on the back of our latest hands-on preview, in which Ubisoft said "The Crew is planned for a release 'back to school' 2014".
The game had originally been due to release earlier this year, but was pushed back to improve vehicle handle, optimise the game engine and enhance the online infrastructure.
"So first we've been giving a lot of attention to the car's handling," wrote Ubisoft explaining the reasons for the game's delay." From steering to weight management, we did our best to offer the most...
I swoop toward the underside of the enemy carrier ship, currently preoccupied with pulverising ours, silencing three heavy guns for good with a swarm of space-age sidewinders. Every little helps, but it’s not enough. I swerve into an effortless slide alongside the leviathan’s hull, randomly battering it with hot plasma as much as my trigger fingers can muster. The carrier takes a lot of damage, but not enough to stop it. It’s still covered in turrets.
Those bloody turrets.
A barrage of fire strips my shields to nothing, so I pull up hard and slam the thrusters...
