News: Flappy Bird: New Season isn't the real deal

Added: 02.04.2014 7:54 | 3 views | 0 comments

Fake follow-up is top of the UK's free iPhone chart.

The Guardian has clocked that the App Store listing is credited to developer Animated Emoji, but also carries a "© dotGears" credit – which is the trading name of Nguyen.

The game was also not released from the same App Store developer account through which Nguyen offered the original Flappy Bird and still provides Shuriken Block and Super Ball Juggling.

A fake Twitter account claiming to be Nguyen is also promoting the game.

Searching for the game on the Google Play store brings up Flappy Bird 2K14 New! from developer Gameslogic Mobile, who has produced...

News: New Watch Dogs video shows off wind water tech

Added: 02.04.2014 7:13 | 1 views | 0 comments

But is it PC or PS4 footage?

A new four minute video of Watch Dogs has emerged online highlighting the wind and water technology featured in Ubisoft's upcoming open worlder.

The footage first appeared on German website PCGamesHardware.de, but was later removed and re-uploaded by AllGamesBeta. Somebody presumably made a blunder.

However, it isn't yet clear which version of the game the footage has been taken from. The footage was initially believed to have been grabbed from the PC version, but later comments on NeoGAF suggest it may actually be of the PlayStation 4 version instead.

News: Did Eidos Montreal sneak a save-stealing April Fools joke into Thief?

Added: 02.04.2014 5:03 | 0 views | 0 comments

Square Enix says it's investigating an issue causing player's save data to disappear.

The bug was allegedly triggered by the April 1 date and, according to the site, can be fixed by setting the internal clock to a future date. The issue supposedly affects the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game.

A post on Steam also suggests that the issue may be legit.

"We're aware of an issue that seems to be affecting some Thief players, preventing them from completing some levels,” a Square Enix representative told the site.

"We're taking this very seriously – as a first step we're reading as many reports of the issue as possible,...

Responding to a fan on Twitter, the Gearbox president wrote: "We're working on next-gen. Platforms TBD.

"We'll probably announce something later this year."

Pitchford has previously confirmed that the Borderlands studio is working on two new IPs in addition to other ongoing projects, but Borderlands 3 is not said to be in development.

Borderlands fans will have to get their fix from Telltale's Tales from the Borderlands adventure game series.

We might get a further hint at what Gearbox is working on during its annual "Inside Gearbox Software"...

It's all fun and games until Wii U gets hurt.

A series of tweets posted by @FrostbiteEngine yesterday morning took a pop at Nintendo's Wii U, trolling fans and making fun of EA's lack of support for the console.

"Frostbite now runs on the #WiiU since it is the most powerful Gen4 platform," Frostbite tweeted. "Our renderer is now optimised for Mario and Zelda."

"Frostbite will power #HalfLife3, coming out summer 2014! #WiiU exclusive," a later tweet added, before concluding with: "Good news, we have finally fixed and optimised our 'netcode'. Uses quantum entanglement for Zero Latency connections. Exclusively on...

News: InFamous: Second Son patch to introduce optional frame rate cap, time of day settings

Added: 01.04.2014 11:56 | 0 views | 0 comments

And the ability to remove the HUD.

The developer hopes that the improvements will help players take better screenshots, allowing them to set the time of day once they've finished the game and remove the on-screen elements that had previously gotten in the way of that perfect picture.

The option to cap the frame rate will also ensure the game doesn't exceed 30fps – an occurrence that some players apparently found "distressing".

Sucker Punch estimates that the earliest the patch will be ready is "in about two weeks from now".

"Additionally, our coders and QA team are of course working to try...

New multiplayer class, weapons, trophies and modes for £7.99.

As previously detailed, The Insurgent DLC packs in three new weapons: the M82, StA-14, and LS12 SMG Pistol, along with two new game modes: Multiplayer Collectibles Mode, which sees players searching for crates to earn points, and Campaign Elite Mode, which tasks players with completing the single-player campaign with just three lives.

Perhaps most importantly, though, is the addition of The Insurgent, a new character class who is able to steal weapons and abilities from downed enemies, and hack enemy turrets to turn them against their own.

The existing classes each...

Feature: Titanfall weapon guide - how to use the Smart Pistol MK5

Added: 01.04.2014 10:58 | 2 views | 0 comments

How to get the most out of what is arguably Titanfall's best weapon.

Knowing how to be most effective with the Smart Pistol is important to becoming a top Titanfall player, and VideoGamer.com has some top tips to help you rack up the kills on the battlefield.

Keep moving

As is the general rule of Titanfall, you have to keep moving to avoid enemy fire while you target your enemies. Strafe and jump while keeping opponents in your sights to grant yourself those vital few extra seconds to lock-on.

The gun will zap to grunts and spectres almost immediately. Grunts will take one shot, while spectres take two or three.

The rating follows last night's confirmation that Metro Redux, a compilation release featuring next-gen versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Rumours suggest that Redux is due...

Review: Battlefield 4: Naval Strike (PS4)

Added: 01.04.2014 9:31 | 3 views | 0 comments

Strike out?

There is plenty of H2O around, of course, but most of which is just the body that separates the two initial spawn points on each map – rarely are you forced to swim or jet ski your way across as you island hop from one location to the next, and if you are, it’s only a short distance.

The maps themselves are extremely open, a snipers paradise with elevated positions that favour the defenders in Rush mode while providing the perfect vantage point for picking off players who adopt the run and gun approach. As with any online Battlefield experience, teamwork and speed are...
