Vega's back and he's bringing his narcissistic claw-slashing wiles to Street Fighter V. Dressed in a spiffy Spanish costume (much approved), he will be playable for the first time at gamescom, along with the recently revealed Necalli.
It's hard to believe, but we're less than a month away from the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Hideo Kojima's swan song features trademark stealth, a huge open world, and an online component. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a bit longer for the multiplayer portion of the game.

All is apparently not well at Konami... but you already knew that.
What you may not know, however, is just how bad the situation actually is. According to Japanese newspaper Nikkei (as translated by Thomas James), employee morale at the company is incredibly low. And let's not forget about all the crazy drama over Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain with Hideo Kojima.

Be careful here, as people often miscategorize "remake" and "remaster." I highly doubt they will be completely doing the game over from scratch. I expect something more like what we got with Final Fantasy X, which was a remaster, because it started with the foundation of assets that already existed.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is a bizarre game. On the one hand, it's a big budget action-packed sequel to Metal Gear Solid, with fantastic gameplay and set-pieces. On the other hand, it's a dizzying story that begins to deconstruct itself while building a complex metafiction halfway through. Yeah, it's an oddball, but one that we love.

After an insane July that had me working almost double the teaching hours (at my real job), I'm way behind where I wanted to be in pumping out this Grandia video. Time to get physical. Physical.

Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) is in full swing, which means a ton of speedrunners are racing through a wide variety of games to raise money for charity. It's one of my summer highlights every year, but as much as I enjoy watching speedruns, I always wonder if I'd have what it takes to speedrun a game. If I were to do so, the game would probably be Volgarr the Viking.
