LetÄ‚Ë€â„Ës be honest. Yoshi is too cute. By association, YoshiÄ‚Ë€â„Ës Woolly World is too cute. And then Nintendo threw yarn Yoshi amiibos in the mix, and IÄ‚Ë€â„Ëm just dying from cuteness over here. So I jumped on the opportunity to play his new game at E3 2015, and IÄ‚Ë€â„Ëm still inundated with perpetual cuteness. Although the game doesnÄ‚Ë€â„Ët come out until October 16, itÄ‚Ë€â„Ës already in really good shape and an absolute charm.
Starting tomorrow when Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward enters Early Access, all existing jobs in the game will be granted at least five new skills. We've seen how many of them look, but until now the full details of all these skills has been unknown. Thanks to data mining of the game's pre-load installation, we now know the information for every skill, from their description, to their cooldowns, and even at which level you'll acquire them when leveling from 50 to 60. Below are images containing all the information you need.

I played many hours of Destiny at launch. During my time with it there was a side of me that wanted to believe that it was the game that I dreamed it would be. Sadly, it wasn't.
Pre-loading for Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward began earlier today, just 24 hours before Early Access. It hasn't taken long for fans of the game to dive into the files and determine some of the changes that Director Naoki Yoshida has teased, but never detailed.
Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura wants to remake more than just Final Fantasy VII, as the series director has also teased an interest in providing similar treatment for both Final Fantasy V and VI.
At this year's E3 Square Enix treated those who played Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward with a gorgeous print originally drawn by the legendary Akihiko Yoshida. Seen above, it was one of the coolest pieces of swag at the show measuring at 17" x 11".
The next entry in the Forza Motorsport franchise is making bold additions that Forza fans such as myself have reason to be excited for. During a meeting at E3 2015 with several members of Turn 10 Studios the development team spent the lion's share of their time showing off all-new weather effects. This has long been requested, and it's being done right the first time. Individual water droplets are calculated with their own physics, making them behave realistically on various surfaces whether it be the windshield of a Ford GT going 100 miles per hour, or on the the carbon fiber side panel of a McLaren P1. As in real life, different materials are porous to varying degrees, making water sit and move across them in unique patterns. This was demonstrated live, and was remarkable.
"It's time to meet Ratchet and Clank for the very first time... again."
Ratchet & Clank's most recent game was 2013's Into the Nexus, but it failed to make any kind of real impact. The series has needed a reinvention for a few years now, and the brand new Ratchet & Clank on PlayStation 4 attempts to inject some life back into the series. It ties into the upcoming film and retells the story of the original game with far more attention to detail. I spent some hands-on time with the game at E3 and got an idea of how Insomniac plans to handle the series reboot.
It has been one heck of a year for gamers at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. For those of you who couldn't be at the show, GameRevolution took the time to roam the show floor and capture some of the best cosplay E3 2015 had to offer.
Beat up spiders the American way with a massive robotÄ‚Ë€â„Ës fist.
I will admit that when I first watched the trailer for Goliath, I didnÄ‚Ë€â„Ët quite get its appeal. You can look for yourself: It looks like a bunch of different robots beating up creatures. But now that IÄ‚Ë€â„Ëve had time to sit with the developers, Whalebox Studios, I admit to being sucked in. Described to me as an "open-world action RPG survival" game, it has a fresh take on RPGs that thankfully does not rely on common fantasy or sci-fi tropes to build its narrative.
The next proper Metroid Prime game for console won't be coming to Wii U. Instead, we'll likely see a new entry in the series released for Nintendo's next console, currently codenamed NX.
When Todd Howard showcased Fallout 4 at Bethesda's first E3 press conference, they surpassed fan expectations. Aside from the announcement of the ambitious release date of November 10th, 2015 and Fallout Shelter, there were a lot of other reasons to get even more excited about the newest adventure into the Bostonian Wasteland.
It's inevitable that people will scream at characters in a horror movie: "Don't go in there!" "Why would you trust him?!" The beauty of Until Dawn is that it takes the horror movie premise and adds a layer of choice. Maybe the player doesn't go in there, and maybe they don't align with the shady character. The novelty doesn't outweigh all of the flaws in the E3 hands-on demo I spent time with, but there are some real moments of tension and horror in the upcoming PlayStation 4 release.
Multiplayer-only games are on the rise, and the developers at Motiga are looking to throw their hat in the ring. With Gigantic, theyÄ‚Ë€â„Ëre adding a new element to the base-defense mode of play by making your "base" a living guardian, a gigantic creature that can attack and be powered up over the course of a game. Throw in 5-vs-5 team-based gameplay and charming cel-shaded graphics with a lot of flare, and Motiga could be bringing the next online obsession.
Electronic Arts isn't interested in remastering older games at this time. Instead, the publisher would rather invest its resources in creating completely new content. As such, there are currently no plans to bring the original Mass Effect games to PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
It's rare that a press conference can do what Sony's did at E3.
We recorded this immediately after the megatons, but editing took a while (and I work mega fuckin' days at my actual jobs every June), so we don't mention the new Nier game, which you know we're definitely keeping our eyes on.
After publishing my hands-on impressions with Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward at E3 this week, I received a wealth of questions from fellow FFXIV fans. A few of them I was able to answer based on my experience yesterday, but a few required that I go back and play the expansion again. So, I went on my second journey to Square Enix's booth this morning to answer some of the current unknowns regarding the expansion, most of which are about its new jobs and skills.
Common practice, when you've got a timed exclusive, is to not say exactly how long that timing is. But something being common doesn't make it any less silly. In an interview with Gamespot about E3 overall, Sony Europe's Jim Ryan was asked about Final Fantasy VII. Here's how that went:
Another big E3 reveal for you was the HD Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which was a huge crowd pleaser. How long does the timed exclusivity deal last?
We donÄ‚Ë€â„Ët have anything to say about that at this point in time.
I understand. I remember when Microsoft announced the Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusivity deal, and Phil Spencer was engulfed by the press who were asking him how long the exclusivity lasted. I feel this issue deserves the same scrutiny.
Yes, but that whole thing was very ambiguous.
Yes, but this is ambiguous as well. No one knows how long Final Fantasy 7 is a timed exclusive for.
[PR spokesperson: "At this stage, we are announcing that itÄ‚Ë€â„Ës coming to our platform. ThereÄ‚Ë€â„Ës nothing else we can say, in terms of exclusivity."]
But that is ambiguous. People who want to buy this game donÄ‚Ë€â„Ët know how long it will remain as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
[PR spokesperson: "At this stage, we are just saying announcing the title, so itÄ‚Ë€â„Ës very common, especially at this stage, to say itÄ‚Ë€â„Ës coming and that itÄ‚Ë€â„Ës coming to our platform.]
Do you think the exclusive window will be? Six months? More? Less?
