While Watch Dogs carries a somewhat negative reputation, most of that is the result of it not meeting the expectations of many gamers rather than being a poor game. Looking back, it had a lot of bright ideas, some of which just weren't fully realized, but that's what a sequel is for.

D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, the weird and quirky Xbox One game from the mind of designer SWERY, will be heading to PC in the near future. Developer Access Games revealed the news this morning, and it looks like the PC port is in good hands.
As a veteran Gran Turismo fan, my only complaint about the series is that its audio has never been as true to life as its physics. Many would agree. While it may have taken more than three generations to address, Gran Turismo 7 could be the first to tackle this weak spot of the series in a big way.
Left Behind is a fantastic prequel to The Last of Us, and now audiences who have yet to experience Ellie and Riley's touching story will be able to do so without purchasing the main game.
I like rhythm games and I like roguelikes, so it's only natural that I like Crypt of the Necrodancer. The game is a fantastic genre mash-up with a kickass soundtrack, as Nick Tan notes in his glowing review of the game. It's also really difficult.
When it comes to enjoying the fruits of NintendoÄ‚Ë€â„Ës enhancements to the Mii Plaza, IÄ‚Ë€â„Ëm generally late to the party. IÄ‚Ë€â„Ëve never purchased an extra game beyond the free offerings (Find Mii I and II) nor any of the other features. When I bring my Nintendo 3DS to conventions, I typically have to spend more time talking with game developers, playing games, or visiting panels than burying my face in it. This is not a criticism of those who do walk convention floors fixated on each round-up of ten visitors, just a statement on my overall use when it comes to the 3DSÄ‚Ë€â„Ës StreetPass feature.
Readers who are also sports fans may have heard the name Colin Cowherd; those who haven't probably should consider themselves fortunate. Cowherd, a sports analyst, hosts the popular ESPN Radio program appropriately called The Herd with Colin Cowherd. When Cowherd speaks out about sports - and only sports - he's rather entertaining. I used to listen to his show at times driving home from my overnight shifts, and no one can deny he's a good radio host. Not always (often) right in my eyes, but certainly entertaining.
You may have heard of the free-to-play Hex: Shards of Fate in one of two ways: first as an extremely successful Kickstarter-funded project that amassed over $2.2 million in contributions, or second as the defendant in a lawsuit by Wizards of the Coast who believes the game is infringing on the ancient pillar that is Magic: The Gathering. Either that, or you haven't heard anything at all about Hex, a digital trading card game that may look like Magic: The Gathering and talk like Magic: The Gathering, but proudly walks its own path of success.
Project Ukulele, the Banjo-Kazooie spritual successor from Playtonic Games, now has an official name: Yooka-Laylee. The familiar title refers to the protagonists of the game.
According to IGN, players will use the two main characters together to traverse 3D environments a la classic platformers. Yooka the lizard uses his tongue as a grappling hook, while Laylee the bat flies and lets out sonar blasts.
The Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, NY have announced their 15 finalists for their 2015 inductees into what theyÄ‚Ë€â„Ëve called the "Video Game Hall Of Fame."
Their selections range from the early days of the industry (Pong) and into the current era of smartphone and tablet gaming (Angry Birds) with a few classic gaming staples.
Techland developed the first Dead Island game, but the company went on to make Dying Light while Yager Development worked on a sequel. It was scheduled to come out this spring, but unfortunately the game has been pushed to next year.
A Senior Gameplay Programmer at Ubisoft has posted information on his LinkedIn profile that could get him in a whole lot of trouble. Previously responsible for working on Watch Dogs and Bad Blood, he lists Watch Dogs 2 as a game he's working on. The game hasn't been announced by Ubisoft.
Along with other automotive enthusiasts, I'm starving for a new racing simulator. It goes without saying that the excitement for Project CARS following its several years of development is at an all-time high now that it's just a week away. But information released today has muffled some of the enthusiasm.
Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, and plenty of other publishers get their time in the spotlight at E3, but AMD and PC Gamer are teaming up to bring some attention to the PC platform.
PC Gamer revealed the PC Gaming Show this morning, a brand new press conference set to take place at E3. It revolves entirely around PC games and news, and eSports commentator Sean "Day[9]" Plott will handle hosting duties.
It's the end of April, which means it's time to check out the PlayStation Plus lineup for next month. Sony released the list of games on the PlayStation Blog this week.
There are five different titles available for PlayStation 4, though some of them also appear on PlayStation 3 and Vita. Among them are Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition, The Unfinished Swan, Race the Sun, and Hohokum.
The death of Silent Hills has brought despair upon the industry this week. Horror fans have been devastated by the news that the most promising upcoming game in the genre was dealt a killing blow by Konami. But at least we're still left with P.T., a masterpiece in and of itself.
Insomniac GamesÄ‚ËĂ˘â€šÂ¬Ă˘â€žË first foray into PC gaming is a wholly unexpected one. Rather than releasing some sci-fi FPS like , the developer has instead quietly pushed Slow Down, Bull onto Steam, a cuddly, inoffensive puzzle game that will see 50% of its profits being donated to Starlight ChildrenÄ‚Ë€â„Ës Foundation, a charity with the intention of improving the lives and health of children and their families.
Grand Theft Auto V's PC version has quickly gained popularity for its Editor which allows players to construct videos using a variety of camera options. There are a lot of great user-made videos that have hit the web, few better than one posted today which features fan-favorite Trevor Philips in a Jackass parody.
If you're a fan of exploration, these past couple years probably haven't done a whole lot for you. Thankfully, that's about to change.
There are nine promising open-world games coming out between now and the end of 2015. Made better, they range in scope and genre offering something for everyone. Those thirsting for a large-scale game that requires weeks to chew through are about to get more than they asked for.
