Mortal Kombat X's Chapter 1 Story Detailed, QTEs Included [Spoiler Alert]

Added: 12.03.2015 10:00 | 3 views | 0 comments

***CHAPTER 1 SPOILER ALERT, DUH***
In a demo shown behind closed doors at GDC 2015, NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. gave us hands-on time with the first chapter of Mortal Kombat X, which takes place primarily 25 years in the future after the events of the last Mortal Kombat. Spoilers abound for the prologue of Mortal Kombat X (as well as the finale of Mortal Kombat IX if you haven't played it), but if we assume that the story for Mortal Kombat X will have a chapter for almost every character on the roster, this will be but a mere sliver of the full story. At the very least, Johnny Cage, who now sports a Nathan Drake-like haircut without his signature shades, will be a playable character.

Final Fantasy Differences Shown in Theatrhythm Dragon Quest Gameplay Video

Added: 12.03.2015 5:31 | 12 views | 0 comments

About two minutes in is when the actual gameplay starts. As a change from the Final Fantasy version of Theatrhythm, notes can be seen coming from top to bottom rather than side to side, giving players a little less time to react. That seems to me like it'll make the game harder.

Shelter 2 - GR Review

Added: 11.03.2015 16:00 | 5 views | 0 comments

The hunt goes on, and on, and on, and on...

When I first read the description for Shelter 2, I imagined a game that simulated an animal's plight to raise her cubs while fending off numerous threats such as predators, starvation, and harsh weather. Being a human mother is difficult, but animal mothers can't purchase food, hire babysitters, or let the TV entertain their children for hours on end. Unfortunately, it has only taken a few playthroughs to realize that this game amounts to little more than a feeding simulator with pretty visuals.

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. - GR Review

More Steam than Gabe Newell could shake a stick at.

Illinois Representative Abraham Lincoln would go on to be one of the United States' greatest and most recognizable figures in its history, but even as much as we know about his tenure as president, the list of minute trivia from "Honest Abe" runs as long as his stovepipe hat. For example, Lincoln still clocks in to this day as the tallest President of the United States, standing about 6' 3.75", just a few inches shorter than the average player in the National Basketball Association this season. President Lincoln was the first to establish a federal banking system in 1863, standardizing the nation's currency for the first time in its history. And though Honest Abe was proficient with an axe or hatchet, he could not bring himself to kill an animal, even for food. It has been noted, however, that President Lincoln allegedly did not carry that policy over to .

Tell GameRevolution: Too Many Indies?

Added: 10.03.2015 16:00 | 8 views | 0 comments

What struck me more than anything during my time on the show floor at PAX East was how many games from independent developers there were. So many of the big-name publishers like Ubisoft, Sony, and Electronic Arts were no where to be found. Instead, hundreds of tiny booths littered the floor, populated by game creators hoping to be the next Notch.

Added: 10.03.2015 13:00 | 15 views | 0 comments

Electronic Arts and Visceral Games have released a launch trailer for the upcoming cops vs. criminals shooter Battlefield Hardline.

While the game was originally supposed to release late last year, Visceral needed a bit more time to polish up the experience so it won't be releasing until next week. Will the long wait have been worth it? based on the killer action-filled gameplay trailer above, I'd say its chances are quite good.
