Ready at Dawn's prior games were the excellent PSP God of War prequels, where they had to scale down big game concepts for a smaller engine. So it's interesting to see them tackle instead a current-gen title aiming to get the most out of the hardware.
Blizzard is currently working on the upcoming MOBA Heroes of the Storm, but that doesn't mean the company can't recognize its roots. Case in point: The Lost Vikings are making an appearance in the game.

With Mortal Kombat X's release date inching ever closer, we're paying homage to the MK games of yesteryear, by putting together a top 10 list specially for old school Mortal Kombat fans -- the ones that pumped quarter after quarter into coin-ops and spent every waking hour trying to unlock secret characters or discover how to perform new fatalities.
The world of Demon's Souls is my oyster now that I have the ridiculously great Meat Cleaver. I can finish up the second archstone, revisit the Tower of Latria, or dodge more Storm Beasts at the Shrine of Storms.
Conceptually, Zombeer sounds a little iffy. Yet another first-person shooter set in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, with a tacked-on gimmick that tasks the player with repeatedly drinking a brand of alcohol titled Zombeer which somehow prevents the gameÄ‚Ë€â„Ës "hero" (and I use that word lightly, but IÄ‚Ë€â„Ëll get to that later) from turning into a member of the shuffling undead. So I started up the game with the ever-so-sneaking suspicion that this wasnÄ‚Ë€â„Ët going to be very good. Unfortunately, I was righthellip; though I had no idea just how right I was going to be.
Ubisoft completed development on its latest title for Wii U, and did so about a year ago. Now it's just pretty much been sitting around collecting dust.
The game is called Know Your Friends, a party game utilizing some of the more social capacities of the Wii U, including mapping the player's face to a paper-cutout character in the same vein as Monty Python's Flying Circus or those JibJab web animations the Internet loves so much. Questions revolved around social knowledge of the players in various situation, such as ranking players according to who would be most likely to invite everyone else over for dinner.
New Nintendo 3DS XL launches this Friday, February 13, and I'm sure many of you are planning on picking up the updated handheld at that time. However, release day may not be as enjoyable an occasion as you're hoping.

Noire for 75% off, as well as Max Payne and its two follow-ups, Max Payne 2 and Max Payne 3. Gone Home, the indie hit, can be found for 60% off, and the story of Bigby Wolf can be found for half-off in The Wolf Among Us, my pick for my Editor's Choice award last year. People can also explore the psyche of horror novelist Alan Wake in his self-titled debut as well as its sequel, Alan Wake: American Nightmare for 50% as well.

Harmonix, the rhythm-based development studio based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, hasn't been in the spotlight much since Dance Central and Fantasia: Disney Evolved, having been somewhat burned by Microsoft's backpedalling on the Kinect being a mandatory peripheral for the Xbox One. Since then, Harmonix has been stirring the embers of its treasured catalogue, including the four-player cooperative Rock Band and its underrated rail-based rhythm game, Amplitude, for PS2.
Man, these "pay monthly for cool stuff" offers just keep getting better and better.
A new start-up in that vein is for the gaming set named "My Retro Game Box," a monthly service that will send a random collection of classic games to your door, and all you have to do is tell them what platforms you own and which format (NTSC or PAL, US or Europe) you would like to play them on. (Ss long as you continue to pay them, of course.) But is such a service for retro players really worth the currency? And maybe more importantly, do we need a service like this?

Melee weapons are not allowed and will only be used as fodder for selling, but everything else is in play including molotovs, grenades, and throwing stars. However, we'll be using tackles, punches, and dropkicks, and seeing how far we can get without dying.
Developer 343 Industries continues to work on Halo: The Master Chief Collection in order to fix the game, but it seems each passing week only introduces new problems. This time, the company has canceled the beta for an upcoming content update.
