We've learned a lot about the next Smash Bros. game over the past few months but there's a lot more to learn, like the extremely important release date. If we're lucky, such details will be revealed within the next 48 hours when Nintendo hosts a Nintendo Direct broadcast completely dedicated to the next Smash Bros. [...]
A while ago, Renegade Kid announced Cult County for the 3DS — a first-person shooter in the survival-horror genre. The developers have recently announced though that the game is no longer coming to the handheld device. Instead, it's coming almost every other platform: Steam (PC, Mac & Linux), Wii U, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, [...]
Nintendo has confirmed that this Disney Magical World-themed 3DS XL is set for release in North America on April 11th. You can check after the break for an extra photo or click here to preorder via Walmart.
The winner of the recent Pokemon Dragon King Tournament in Japan is one lucky fellow. He took home the above 3DS XL which is completely one-of-a-kind, featuring the Mega Charizard X artwork and the winner's name on the outside. This has to be the best looking 3DS XL so far.
In the 3DS version of the next Smash Bros. game, a default setting places a thick, black outline around the characters to help them pop out from the background. This setting can be customised though, as demonstrated above the for the first time. I think I'll probably leave the outline enabled though.
For this year at least, Nintendo won't be attending PAX East. This is obviously disappointing to hear if you're planning on heading to the event and the official response from Nintendo isn't going to really change anything: "Interacting directly with our fans and letting them play our games firsthand is a key component of our [...]
Cut the Rope: Triple Treat is now available on the 3DS and the launch trailer can be found after the break. I'd say it's definitely best to wait for reviews on this one though.
Today marks the fourth anniversary of the blog and YouTube channel so, of course, I want to say thank-you to everyone who's been following along over the years. I know the blog is past its prime at this point but the show will go on and I think there'll be a lot of goodies coming [...]
Mighty No. 9 is one of the more hype-worthy games coming to the 3DS and Wii U, since it's being made by the creator of Mega Man, and there's a few minutes of gameplay footage after the break. Just know that the game is definitely a work in progress.
Coming out of GDC is the announcement that Animal Crossing: New Leaf has sold over 7,380,000 units worldwide. For context, "the handheld title is currently outselling other triple-A titles like Naughty Dog's The Last of Us." I wonder if Nintendo's already returning to the Animal Crossing drawing board.
According to the folks at The Tracking Board, a movie for Sonic the Hedgehog is development and the studio is "going for a dark, edgy version skewed towards older audiences." Apparently, the film will mix live-action and animation, and these are the short-listed writers: Brad Bird (“Incredibles, “”Wall-E,” “Brave,” “Toy Story 2,” “Up”) Wernick & [...]
At the moment, game developers who use the Unity Engine (which anyone can download for free) are able to build their games for the Wii U. You still need manual approval from Nintendo and a development kit but anyone who is familiar with Unity doesn't have to learn an entirely new engine to make games [...]
Nintendo has updated Miiverse across the Wii U and 3DS, with five main additions and improvements. You can either check out Miiverse yourself, or check after the break for the details. 1) We’ve added a community search feature. Select “Search” on the bottom-right of the Communities screen to search for communities. Just enter a game [...]
Jools Watsham of Renegade Kid has shared that Moon Chronicles — their episodic, first-person shooter – has been submitted to Nintendo for approval. This means the game should arrive on the eShop during April or May. When a more specific date arrives I will, of course, keep you posted.
For a while now, Masahiro Sakurai has been sharing glimpses of various stages from the next Smash Bros. game via Miiverse. Within his most recent update though, he's shared a much -depth look at the highly-dynamic stage based on Super Mario 3D Land. Check it out after the break. Pic of the day. Here's [...]
In a recent interview with Sonic Stadium, Stephen Frost of SEGA has said: All I can really say right now is that the 3DS game is its own experience with a separate storyline from the Wii U version. We have a few surprises to announce in relation to the 3DS game, but you’ll just have [...]
To complement the release of the movie, an adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon 2 is set for release on Wii U, 3DS, Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360. Here's the official description: How to Train Your Dragon 2 the video game lets players embark on a heroic adventure on their way to becoming a [...]
To complement the release of Pokemon Battle Trozei in Japan, a pair of 3DS XL designs are becoming available via a competition in the region. There's a black and white version, both of which can be seen after the break. Which one do you like the most?
Masahiro Sakurai has posted the above image and said: Looks like someone’s enjoying the bachelor life in this pad,” the picture looks a lot like one of the oddball import’s living spaces – which is nice enough itself, but could it spell more exciting things for the future? A Mii character in the roster, or [...]
A fan of Super Mario 64, which is a string of words that could be used to describe just about anyone, has decided to remake the game using the Blender Game Engine. It's an ambitious idea so I hope we continue to hear about progress over the coming months since the developer hopes to add [...]
