Monster Hunter 4 has shipped four million units in Japan since its release earlier this year and, in celebration, Capcom has released a new commercial for the game. It's after the break.
I've managed to keep the momentum rolling with these videos so feel free to watch above for some more recent Nintendo 3DS news. Fingers crossed there's more to talk about over the holiday season.
As expected — but despite our hopes — the next Smash Bros. game will not arrive in Spring 2014. Here's what Nintendo said in regards to the rumour: There seems to be some buzz online today about the launch date of Super Smash Bros. We would like to clarify that the speculation about a Spring 2014 launch [...]
Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land is set for release in Japan on the Nintendo 3DS during February, 2014 and you can check out some new screenshots and art after the break.
Keiji Inafune, the creator of Mega Man, has been working on King of Pirates for a while. The game was announced in 2011, set for release in 2012, delayed until 2013, and now it's been pushed back until 2014. At the moment, the game is only coming to Japan but we can keep our fingers [...]
After you finish Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, you're able to see a trailer for the sequel — Bravely Second. Or you could just watch the video after the break. That's the other option.
This doesn't strictly relate to the 3DS but if you want to relive the soundtrack of Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon LeafGreen, you can now do that via iTunes. You can pick up all 90 tracks for $11.99, which seems like a solid deal to me. Find the soundtrack here, and look forward to future releases [...]
Over the coming month, these are games you will be able to purchase via Club Nintendo in the United States: Mario’s Picross - 100 coins (Nintendo 3DS eShop) Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels - 150 coins (Wii Shop) Starship Defense - 150 coins (Nintendo 3DS eShop) Balloon Fight - 200 coins (Wii U eShop or the Wii Shop) [...]
The above image was captured through the Contra III: The Alien Wars community via Miiverse on the 3DS and, as you can see, it suggests that SNES may be titles coming to the 3DS. I don't believe this would be too surprising, so fingers crossed Nintendo makes an announcement in the near future.
We know that Nintendo is shooting for the release of Smash Bros. next year but logic would suggest they'd release the game near the end of the year in time for the holiday period. Bernd Fakesch, however, who is the general manager of Nintendo of Germany has said: For next spring two more big license [...]
Nintendo has released the expected firmware update for the 3DS. This update adds support for Miiverse, Nintendo Network ID, and shared eShop balances, and you can check out the full patch notes after the break. Added Support for Nintendo Network IDs: Users can now create or link a Nintendo Network ID, which is required to [...]
Emily Rogers has shared that an update for the 3DS will be released within the next 24 hours, and this update will contain: Miiverse. Nintendo Network ID. Shared eShop balances with Wii U. I'll post again when the download is available.
Square Enix has launched the official website for Bravely Second. You can find it here. The game is a sequel to Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. There's some art and screenshots after the break.
To fill the gaps when there's not a lot of 3DS news to talk about, I thought I'd start a series where I share mildly interesting anecdotes about the blog and the YouTube channel. This is the first video in that series. It covers how I got the Nintendo3DS name on YouTube and how Nintendo [...]
We've known for a while that Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney is set for release in Europe, North America, and Australia in early 2014, but we haven't been kept to update in that regard. Luckily though, the game has been rated in Australia, placing it one step closer to being on store shelves.
I didn't watch all of VGX 2013 because it was lame. Luckily though, someone put together all the most cringe-inducing clips. Or at least, the moments where Joel McHale decided to go off-script and mess with the show. Enjoy.
I uploaded this video a few days ago but didn't get around to posting it on the blog. If you're wondering why the YouTube application on the 3DS is not that great though, this will explain why. You can also learn how to watch non-YouTube videos via the YouTube app if you want.
Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed that Skull Kid is an Assist Trophy in the next Smash Bros. game (shown above in the Wii U version). It's a shame he's not a playable character but I suppose this is better than nothing?
