Added: 05.08.2015 5:00 | 11 views | 0 comments

The thinking woman.
Standing silently on the shoulders of Aveline de GrandpreÄ‚Ĺ‚ who led Assassin's Creed: Liberation on PlayStation Vita, Evie Frye is the first female protagonist for a main Assassin's Creed title. Opposed to her twin brother Jacob Frye in the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, who has a brash, aggressive attitude toward the Templars who have an iron grasp on London's aristocracy, Evie has a more conservative and classical approach to her craft. Where Jacob believes in rallying the streets gangs against the upper class right out in the open—perhaps serving both as an army and a distraction—Evie takes to the shadows and assassinates targets deliberately and with calculation.

How ARK: Survival Evolved Is Conquering Steam

Added: 04.08.2015 18:00 | 8 views | 0 comments

ARK: Survival Evolved has quickly and quietly become a big deal on Steam. Frequently ranking among the top 20 most-viewed games on Twitch and proving to be a hit with YouTubers, ARK follows the path to success of many survival games before it, but it has arguably attracted more praise in its first couple of months on sale than its Early Access peers H1Z1 and fellow dino-hunting romp The Stomping Lands.

Added: 04.08.2015 16:00 | 8 views | 0 comments

August is convention mayhem, what with gamescom in Germany and PAX Prime about to start at the end of the month. So publishers are far too occupied with advertising their games to release any of them, though the end of the month would seem to be the start of the official holiday season. (It just gets longer and longer.)

For this first week of August, we've got Microsoft knocking on our door with Rare Replay, a fantastic collection of hits from Rare which I hope spurs the developer to create something awesome and original for modern times (eventually).

Tell GameRevolution: Mario or Sonic?

Added: 04.08.2015 13:00 | 12 views | 0 comments

A good many years ago, the console landscape only had two major players: Nintendo and SEGA. Ah, the days of SNES vs. Genesis... What a wonderfully long time ago.

During that time, each platform holder had their own silly mascot, both of which still live on in games today. Well, sort of. While Mario is still alive and well, some may argue Sonic is dead and died a long time ago, despite have several new games (of questionable quality) released fairly recently.

Journey (PS4) - GR Review

Sand, Snow, and Scarves.

Back when I started to think about video games as a legitimate art form, I was focused on one simple notion: that the best of any art utilizes their specific medium to the fullest. No matter how much I love the Harry Potter movies, JK Rowling’s prose is unforgettable in the books. Only a book can get you inside the head of character. (The Potter gameshellip;now those are forgettable.) Likewise, plenty of video games with great cutscenes evoke the thought, "Would this just be better as a film?" (If that game is , well, okay, that would probably translate wellhellip;)
