When Dark Souls first came out in 2011, it was seen as a niche game. Since that time, the Souls series has blossomed into an instantly recognizable name in the RPG world, and the sales numbers prove it.
Sony and Naughty Dog have finally lifted the lid on Uncharted 4's extended E3 2015 gameplay demo that was shown off to select members of the press behind closed doors. It starts off with the footage that was shown off at Sony's E3 presser and then continues for several extra action-packed minutes.
Another month means another new batch of free PlayStation Plus games. Sony revealed the July lineup earlier this morning on the PlayStation Blog.
The PlayStation 4 gets four playable games, headlined by the new multiplayer release Rocket League. It's essentially soccer with vehicles, and having played it at E3, I can say it's a blast.
The Nintendo Gaming Lounge, located at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina directly across from the Comic-Con 2015 convention center, will be holding multiple fan tournaments on Wii U and 3DS consoles.
Though there's no boat this time around, Ubisoft will be featuring Assassin's Creed Syndicate at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 with the return of the Assassin's Creed Experience, an Ninja Warrior-styled obstacle course that has been redesigned to be line with the game's Victorian-era London setting. (And speaking of Ninja Warrior, whose seventh season is in full swing, you can watch breakout star Kacy Catanzaro demolish last year's course here.)
For the past two weeks I have been playing Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward non-stop. As I encounter some of the expansion's best qualities, I can't help but think to myself how other MMORPGs can improve by looking at what Square Enix has done right, including the legendary World of Warcraft.

To no surprise, Bethesda's Fallout 4 and EA's Star Wars Battlefront have received plenty of love from critics after making quite a splash last month during the expo. Here's the entire list of categories, each with its corresponding nominees:

Nintendo revealed a new Metroid Prime game at E3 2015, but it certainly wasn't the triple-A high-definition Wii U experience fans were hoping. Instead, 3DS owners are getting a multiplayer co-op shooter called Metroid Prime: Federation Force that has a soccer-esque mini-game called Blast Ball.

Shovel Knight is getting a physical release of PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, and 3DS. It'll launch in North America on October 13 for $19.99. Meanwhile, those in Europe will be able to pick up the title three days later on the October 16.

Nintendo continues to add new content to Splatoon every week, and now the company plans to introduce a brand new game mode tomorrow called Tower Control.
Tower Controller is a ranked mode, and it requires players to "ride a single floating tower into the enemy's base." In order to ensure victory, teammates must work together to protect the player riding the tower while enemies try to splat them.

Uncharted voice actor Nolan North has seemingly outed a sequel to The Last of Us.
During a panel at Metrocon 2015 (via NeoGAF) North responded to a fan question about future projects after Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, to which he replied: "Not yet, I know they're doing The Last of Us 2."
However, Troy Baker, the voice actor for Joel in Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic hit, denied knowledge of such a sequel. "I know nothing," he said during a panel at Indy PopCon (via Eurogamer). "I don't know if we're gonna do another one or not. If we do, then I trust Neil [Druckmann] and Bruce [Straley] and everyone at Naughty Dog to tell a story that needs to be told."
This week the first major post-launch update for Heroes of the Storm will drop. It begins a multi-month campaign called Eternal Conflict which will usher Diablo themed content to the game.
