Which is a little pre-emptive since it's not out for a couple of weeks.
There's this game, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and a bloke, Kevin Spacey, stars in it. It's likely you've heard of both of them.
Available for pre-download today, Halo 4's Spartan Ops mode won't arrive til December.
As a great man in a bottle-green bodysuit once said, "I think we're just getting started". Halo: The Master Chief Collection has gone gold, according to 343's Dan Ayoub, meaning it will be available for pre-download on Xbox One later today.
And people care "more about getting an amazing game" than 1080p.
The revelation that Dragon Age: Inquisition runs at 900p on Xbox One has provoked, you will be surprised to read, a certain amount of controversy - BioWare claimed at the time that it had "maximized the current potential" of all supported platforms, much to player dismay.
Imagine "Uncharted in the Call of Duty fiction", says Michael Condrey.
You might recall that Advanced Warfare developer Sledgehammer worked on a third-person Call of Duty game set in Vietnam across 2009 to 2010. The game was ultimately shelved amid concerns about such a project's reception in countries outside the United States, and Sledgehammer was shuttled over to help a troubled Infinity Ward complete work on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Be the first to see the game's opening cinematic.
Fans of mud, magic and psuedo-medieval upset, rejoice - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be getting yet another tease at this year's Golden Joysticks awards. As revealed by event organisers (and, dare I say it, friends) CVG, CD Projekt RED will be showing off the game's opening cinematic at the event, taking place on 24 October.
Executive producer Steve Papoutsis details a few forthcoming changes.
Battlefield: Hardline was treated to a mixed reception when the beta went live on PC and PSN this summer. The game is notionally a clean break from the numbered Battlefields, taking its cues from heist cinema and Heat rather than Black Hawk Down, but many players felt it handled identically, with much the same capacity for outright carnage as its warlike kin.
Perhaps the most epic in-game betrayal ever.
So I don't own a copy of Shadow of Mordor yet, despite Joe's enthusiastic verdict, and despite being a lifelong fan of Orcs, swords and the application of one to the other. This fan video (captured on PC) could be the straw that breaks the camel's back: it shows a player using the Brand skill to engineer what's perhaps the greatest feat of mass AI treachery in game history.
That poker face may not help you in a swordfight.
Hand of Fate is quite a lot like chess boxing, only with a delightfully rendered tarot game in place of the chess, and hectic fantasy scraps in place of the boxing. This may sound like a recipe for acute (and bruising) confusion. In practice, it looks rather marvellous.
Only for a "very small" group at first, larger-scale testing to follow.
Gird thy loins, adventurer! Lionhead is now inviting Xbox One users to the Fable Legends beta, which begins today. Incidentally, if you're not clear on how exactly one girds one's loins, here's a little guide. NB: If you are wearing trousers, I advise you to think twice before making the attempt. One does not gird trousers, not without causing irreparable harm to one's lower regions.
Electronic Software Association responds to Gamergate controversy.
Videogame industry lobby group the Electronic Software Association has taken a stand against online abuse, after being contacted by the Washington Post for its views on #Gamergate, a self-described campaign for press ethics that is linked to misogynistic threats and harassment.
Also, new Snap Center controls, DLNA server support, MKV playback.
Ask and ye shall receive, Xbox One owners! Well, providing you asked for new ways to use the Snap Center, a dashboard Friends section and tweaked Achievement features. Also in this month's system update: "password resets just got better". What an age we live in.
Microsoft formally announces pack-ins after retailer leak.
How many seasonal Xbox One bundles are we up to now? Four? Five? And which of these shapely, game-specific darlings will you go home with this Christmas, assuming you aren't the proud owner of an Xbox One already? Careful - they look cute but they've got teeth.
Remember when games used to be hard?.
The moment I published our round-up of hardcore-friendly Xbox One titles this Sunday, the Earth shook to a fearful chuntering. Nay, 'twas as if mighty Thor had smote the very sky asunder, scattering stars across the face of the realm.
Do a barrel roll.
Everybody hates AI glitches, but some of us hate getting our heads ripped off even more. With that in mind, you might like to watch out for the below barrel when next you play Alien: Isolation. Biohazard warnings aside, it appears to be equipped with some kind of invisibility cloak.
Seen these yet? A gathering-together of eye-watering snaps.
So you may have already encountered these if you're a regular visitor to Halo Waypoint, but - by the beard of Zeus, Halo 5: Guardians screenshots! They're from this winter's Xbox One beta, which is slated to run from 29th December 2014 to 18th January 2015, and comprises three modes, 11 weapons, seven maps and seven armour sets.
That's one way to win a fight.
In the absence of Aoife, OXM's erstwhile fighting game expert, I can only stare with terror and confusion at this Killer Instinct Season 2 launch trailer. Looks... painful? I particularly like the bit when the lady throws the dagger and it turns into a globule of electricity.
"A million deaths are not enough for Master Rahool.".
Not content with depriving honest, hard-working Destiny players of the chance to fire endlessly into a magic enemy-spawning hole, Bungie has added a cheeky little Easter egg to the game in place of the now-defunct loot cave in Old Russia.
Telltale's celebrated adaptation makes the leap from Xbox 360.
Despite being slated for release on 31st October, the full first season of Telltale's The Walking Dead series is now available on Xbox One. Surprised? Well, that's the thing about zombies, isn't it - they might look sluggish, but they're oddly good at creeping up on people.
Goodness gravy, this week's Xbox One discounts are actually worth a look.
In news that will surely split the very Earth to its marrow, Microsoft has put up some Xbox One store reductions that are actually worth talking about. They apply to cult horror hit Outlast - a fine horror aperitif while you wait for your copy of Alien: Isolation and/or The Evil Within - the beautifully good-humoured Rayman Legends and Worms Battlegrounds, which professes to be the "biggest and best Worms game to date".
Future update to "address under-performing Exotics and overall class balance".
Destiny is another word for "fate", and to paraphrase Sarah Connor from Terminator 2, "there's no fate but what we make... then gradually overhaul by way of downloadable updates". Yes, Bungie has once again taken a hammer and pliers to its first post-Halo shooter, tweaking the guns, missions, UI and whatever it deems necessary to ensure that you enjoy Destiny slightly more today than you did last night.
