Microsoft's come out on the Gamescom stage swinging with an incredibly bombastic sizzle reel, which blasts through a few of Xbox One's more anticipated exclusives - including Forza 5, Killer Instinct and Titanfall.
And it might actually be possible to build your own Titan.
Gamescom is upon us, ladies and gentlemen, but there's time nonetheless for a pinch sight from this year's E3 (Gamescom and E3 are, so you know, more or less equivalent to Battlefield and Call of Duty in the expo scale/rivalry stakes). Titanfall designer Fairfax 'Mackey' McCandlish has explained to Edge that the game's preposterous mechs aren't supposed to feel like fantasy - they're the result of extensive research into actual military technology, and may thus represent a practical possibility given, oh, a couple billion dollars in disposable cash.

We appear to be mere hours away from the announcement of Fable: Legends at Microsoft's Gamescom media briefing tomorrow, as suggested by the registration of FableLegends.com and FableLegends.net in March - the listings in question were most recently updated on Friday, 16th August. And is it, as Legends implies, a Heroes-style spin-off from the main series?

We can probably expect to hear more at Gamescom this week. Everybody be on the alert for "primal animations", now.

Battlefield 4 launches for the 360 this October. However, you're probably also aware that a certain next generation console is due out not too long after that, and the game is due for that too. So there's a dilemma - do you get the game on launch and join your friends in the battle right away, or do you hold out for the shiny new features of the Xbox One version?

Havana load of this footage.
There's a pretty strong case out there for suggesting that Assassin's Creed 2 has, so far, been the peak of the very popular AC series. It seems only right then that Ubisoft should build the city of Havana as a homage to the cities in the second game in the newest iteration, Black Flag.
