You can now add green screen effects, transitions, more.
Upload Studio, Xbox One's video editing app, has just received a giant update that adds a load more options, including an increased total running time of 30 minutes.
In the Game of Thrones, you... something something.
You may have noticed - we certainly did - that your Game of Thrones save file from episode 1 had been, well, forgotten. Having booted up the second episode, I noticed that the short "here's what happened last time" catch-up intro was completely wrong, showing me a load of decisions I hadn't made.
Build rollercoasters, smush everyone onboard.
When they're not making space trading games that might rhyme with Nelite: Gangerous, Frontier love nothing better than to mess about with rollercoasters, removing screws and generally cackling as people fall to their doom. Or I assume so anyway, if their upcoming game ScreamRide is any indication.
Cook, camp and take on a giant monster.
Episode Duscae - the upcoming demo for Final Fantasy XV, packed in with the first copies of Type-0 - is going to be with us this March, and I'm looking forward to scampering about its techno-modern-fantasy world as the trendiest JRPG cast this side of Shibuya. But what's in the demo?, you might be wondering if you've been teased by my previous news posts. Well, I can finally tell you.
Shadows, because stealth game. DO YOU SEE?.
Hey, that Twin Souls looks a bit good, doesn't it? Obviously I'm basing that on a few trailers and screenshots, but anything inspired by Tenchu, Thief and Splinter Cell has a real shot at sneaking into my good books. Now, devs Lince Works have given a new interview to Only SP, revealing quite a few details about the game.
And an immortal shopkeeper. It's about time!.
Have you had to restart your game eight times because your Inquisitor's upper lip shines like the light of a thousand angels in cutscenes? Wish you could fiddle around with your hairstyle because the one you're stuck with doesn't quite suit the mission you're on? Maybe you just really want that glossy armour you salvaged from a dragon's steaming carcass to be a slightly more fashionable shade of cerise?
These lovely new screens should cheer him up.
Just Cause 3 is coming, offering up an entire archipelago for hero Rico Bending Rodriguez to blow up, grapple together, and then blow up again. You can see some of these explosions in the very first trailer for Avalanche's open world dictator-toppler, below.
Showcase Peterborough streaming the event live. Watch it on a cinema screen!.
I quite like the idea of renting out a cinema screen to play my favourite games in big-o-vision, but I might like the thought of streamed esporting events even more. Showcase cinemas and the European Gaming League have teamed up to offer such occasions, and if you head to Peterborough on Sunday February 22nd you can see their first one: Halo 2 being played on the big screen.
Makes nighttime scarier, and stealth more necessary.
Dying Light, like football, is a game of two halves, and both sides are about to get a fair bit trickier with a new Hard mode coming soon as a free download.
Track your friends' achievements and find new friends to add!.
Microsoft think you don't have enough friends. They're worried about you, you know. They just feel like you should probably have more people to talk to and play with, because when they were your age they were outside playing with Johnny and Cathy and that little boy from down the road, what was his name? ah, it doesn't matter. The point is, they're concerned you'll grow up all socially maladjusted because your only friend is a 13-year-old from Brazil who has questionable views about your mother.
Chat and emote with other players, and do a bit of trading.
I often see free-to-play multiplayer game Warframe mentioned as an alternative to Destiny, and the comparison gets a little more apt today. A new update has introduced Relays to the console versions of the game, or hub worlds where you can chill out with other players between matches. While they've been around in the PC version for a couple of months now, we can finally explore them on Xbox One.
It'll be out the same time as the PC version.
Size Five Games' promising The Swindle is coming to Xbox One, courtesy of developers, publishers, and masters-of-the-console-port Curve Digital. It'll be out at the same time as the PC version, and it's been described by developer Dan Marshall as "Spelunky crossed with Deux Ex". Oh, NOW you're interested?
Cars, motorbikes, helicopters, a gunboat! Also: grappling hook.
I hope you weren't waiting to be surprised by Battlefield Hardline on release day, as EA and Visceral have now blown pretty much the whole thing wide open. Well, the multiplayer anyway - the twists and turns of the probably twisty, turny story mode remain relatively untrammeled. Their latest update reveals the vehicles and gadgets you'll be using in the game, and for some reason there's not an elephant or a gyrocopter among them. What is this, a game about cops and robbers? Oh.
And even if you didn't, loads of other people did.
The Resident Evil HD Remaster is Capcom's "fastest selling digital title", and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi has taken it upon himself to say thanks. Rather than sending fans a Moonpig card or a bunch of flowers, he's recorded a brief YouTube video, which you'll find below.
Cuisine & Cargo out now, adds two 'hardcore' missions.
Dying Light seems to be largely impressing folk with its mixture of Dead Island zombie shenanigans and Mirror's Edge-style parkour, and if you're similarly impressed you might be hoping for a little more of it. Well, you're in luck - the contents of its season pass have been torn open like a carcass (or something), and are now spilling out all over the floor. What a mess!
While a new patch fixes co-op to the map editor.
I'm not sure why Ubisoft are bothering to add new vehicles to Far Cry 4, when they've already peaked with the ace Gyrocopter. With a small grenade launcher in tow, I've levelled quite a lot of Kyrat from the air, and it's some of the best fun I've ever had in a Far Cry game. But I digress - Ubisoft are adding a dune buggy with some new DLC, out now.
Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be Mumbo Jumbo.
Our life hasn't been the same since we first got our mitts on Banjo Kazooie and its mad brand of jigsaw-collecting fun. But after a couple of not-quite-as-good sequels and a long period of Banjo Kazooie-lessness, we started to lost hope that we'd ever have an experience like that again. But wait!
Is maybe a bit much for that Rogue Warrior 2 announcement.
Bethesda have announced that they'll be holding a dedicated E3 conference this year, on Sunday the 14th of June. While the likes of EA and Ubisoft have been doing this sort of thing for ages, this will be Bethesda's first ever, leading many (i.e. me) to believe they're going to reveal something special.
With Kalimba in the running for best original property.
The people at BAFTA think almost as highly of Alien: Isolation as we do - they've just announced the nominations for this year's BAFTA Game Awards, and Creative Assembly's lurking horror is leading the pack.
With the aid of some horrible, horrible dubstep.
Just when you thought dubstep trailers were over, Capcom have brought them screaming back. As a result, this new trailer for DmC: Definitive Edition is nigh on unwatchable - but thankfully it's accompanied by a pretty informative blog post.
