Users over on the Touch Arcade forum have spotted a new Assassin's Creed game in Ubisoft's Uplay social gaming network. It's called Assassin's Creed Memories, and it's apparently a mash up of card battler, RPG, and strategy.
There's scant information about the title as you might expect, but it does have a whiff of the unreleased Assassin's Creed: Utopia about it.
The Uplay entry suggests tha...
EA's CEO Andrew Wilson has almost, sort-of, nearly apologised for the free-to-play Dungeon Keeper reboot. Speaking to Eurogamer, Wilson described what happened with the title as "a shame".
He went on to add that EA had "misjudged the economy".
I think he means they got the pricing structure of the game wrong, rather than suggesting that EA misjudged the entire economy of the world and that s...
This week, Peter and I prepare to go to war with the Pocket Gamer and AppSpy community.
Don't worry - it's one of those pretend wars where no one gets hurt, and all the ammo is composed of ones and zeros.
You see, World of Tank: Blitz came out this week. And, at the time of recording, we were 24-hours away from standing alongside our community brothers and sisters on the virtual field of ba...
It’s been another hectic week in the world of mobile gaming. Barely have the PocketGamer.biz team recovered from another Pocket Gamer Connects conference and the industry throws us enough news to keep us more than honest.
Rather than complain about the lack of rest for our wicked team, we've instead spent the week busily beavering away at the biggest stories of the week.
Arguably the biggest n...

Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake
By SleepNinja - buy on Android (£2.94 / $4.99)
A cute little puzzler that takes the Zelda template and cuts it into thin slices of well balanced video game fun.
The game is all about tracking down the beasts that have nabbed your birthday cake. You collect...
A little bit of controversy has flared up over SleepNinja's Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake. An artist has claimed that a good chunk of the design of the game has been lifted from his own creation.
The artist in question worked on a game called MonsterUp Adventures, and has suggested that the world map in Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake is a direct lift from his own designs.
We've stuck the info...
Disco Zoo has been updated with some new content. Perhaps most importantly, the giraffes now sleep the right way round. If that was the main reason you weren't giving the game a go, you can rest easy. Just like the giraffes.
Elsewhere there's a new region for the zoo, and a new vehicle for you to fly around and collect animals in. It's possible there's some space-related content as well. So...
The Nightmare Cooperative isn't the kind of game you'd expect from Lucky Frame given its previous run of titles.
That includes musical tower defence in Bad Hotel, two-player duelling in Gentlemen!, and music creation by way of a gorgeous dodge-'em-up in Wave Trip.
The Nightmare Cooperative is similar to none of these. In fact, it's probably best compared to Michael Brough's cyberpunk rogueli...
After the success of dystopian document thriller Papers, Please on PC last year, I was expecting to see many more games like it than we have so far.
One of the few that can be compared to Papers, Please is Double Zero One Zero's The Westport Independent.
The two-man Swedish team describe it as a "censorship simulator". This is on account of you playing as the editor at an independent newspa...

There's no shortage of Clash of Clans clones on iOS or Android.
But there hasn't been an officially licensed Star Wars-based Clash of Clans clone before.
There is now, however, as LucasArts and Disney have teamed up to soft-launch Star Wars: Commander in Australia for iOS.
As you'd expect, this is a free-to-play strategy game that places you in the middle of the Galactic Civil War in the ...

Telltale has released the entirety of The Walking Dead: Season Two on Google Play at long last.
It's already available on Android through the Amazon App Store, has been for a few weeks.
But we have a sneaking suspicion that many of you prefer to purchase games through Google's digital store.
If that's the case, feel free to scramble on over to Google Play [download] to download the Br...
Blindflug Studios has rolled out the 1.1 update to the Silver Award-winning First Strike today.
As detailed a few weeks ago, this update adds support for iPhone and Android phones, so you can play it on a smaller screen.
Inside the game itself, the TSAR missile and Stealth Bomber have now been added at the end of the tech research tree. Do note that these are superweapons and aren't to b...
Silver Award-winning super tough arcade twitcher Wave Wave has made the tortuous journey from the App Store to the Google Play Store, meaning gamers of an Android persuasion can finally get their hands on it.
The game is about weaving a line through a triangular landscape for as long as you can. Which, to begin with at least, isn't going to be very long.
At review we called it "the game ...
