News: Doom won't be given a free pass by consumers, says Bethesda's marketing vice president

Added: 07.07.2014 11:52 | 16 views | 0 comments

Must prove the game is something gamers need to pay attention too.

"We view that similarly to Wolfenstein, because it's been so long since the last Doom game," explained Hines. "We are going in as if we need to prove ourselves all over again. We have no free passes. Nobody will assume this is going to be awesome."

He added: "We are going to have to prove that this is something that's going to be fun and different that you need to pay attention to. That has to be our default position, we can't be: 'It's Doom. Of course you're going to play it.' But that just makes us work harder."

Bethesda has recently achieved success with...

Added: 07.07.2014 10:44 | 20 views | 0 comments

PES Productions looking back at PES 5 'magic' for inspiration behind this year's game.

But the publisher doesn't intend to make the same mistake with this year's PES 2015, which it hopes will recapture the "magic" of fan favourites PES 5 & PES 6 and pledges to only ship "when it's done".

"There's obviously a change in what PES used to be and what it is now here in Europe," European brand manager Adam Bhatti told VideoGamer.com last week. "Around PES 5/PES 6 it was the football game that everybody wanted to play. It's not there right now, certainly in Europe. We're still quite strong in South America and Asia. So it's quite important for us to recapture...

News: American kids aren't too fussed by the classic Game Boy

Added: 07.07.2014 9:47 | 24 views | 0 comments

Nintendo's handheld system is 25 years old.

To be fair the majority of the kids weren't too harsh on the Game Boy, but one girl did scream when told she may be given it as a gift from her parents.

Another kid also criticised the handheld for not supporting apps. Silly Nintendo.

Added: 07.07.2014 6:53 | 26 views | 0 comments

Hopes to raise money for bonus content, including full English voice acting.

Inafune's reasoning is that the new money will be used to create bonus content, such as a full English voice track if $100,000 is reached.

An FAQ published by developer Comcept cleared up that the development of the core game is secured through the money raised last year, and does in no way rely on new funding.

"The video game we proposed in the Kickstarter campaign last year is going to be completed with all of the funding we received from backers," reads the FAQ. "For this new funding campaign we are looking to add new content to the game that we did not or could not...

'No full [Oculus] game in development', Creative Assembly confirms.

"What we've got at the moment with @oculus is a prototype," the developer told a fan asking whether there'll be a public demo of the game on Rift, "there's no full game in dev".

The news may come as a disappointment to those who had been hoping to try out the game on the VR headset, particularly given its terrifying potential.

Chris got to play around with Alien Isolation on Oculus Rift last week and came away excited – and nervous - about the intense, immersive twist it offered on Creative Assembly's survival horror.
